General Cosmetic Manufacturing Questions
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Our minimum order quantity (MOQ) starts at 5000 units per SKU. However, actual quantities may vary based on factors such as formula type, packaging, and fill sizes.
How long does it take to receive the first formula sample (R&D lead time)?
The lead time for the initial formula sample varies between 2 to 6 weeks, considering factors unique to each product.
How long does it take for formula revisions?
Revised samples are typically provided within 7-10 business days, contingent on the complexity of the requested revisions.
What are the lead times for production orders?
Lead times will vary throughout the year depending on inventory/availability of raw materials, components, # of orders in que. Typically lead times run 6 – 8 weeks from deposit.
Product Development and Customization
Can I customize my product?
Certainly! We believe in creating unique and fully customized products tailored to our customers’ needs.
I have my own formula in mind, can you create it for me?
Yes, at Medpak Solutions, we offer custom formulation services. Our experienced team of chemists will collaborate with you to create a formula that meets your specific requirements and specifications.
Are there any restrictions on the types of ingredients or formulas you can work with?
Our approach is flexibility, and materials are evaluated one by one, we won’t work with anything that may affect the safety of our employees or the end consumer.
Can you accommodate special requests for fragrance or color variations in products?
Yes, we work with great perfumers and color professionals to create your required scent.
Formulation and Ingredients
Do you offer all-natural and/or vegan-friendly products?
Absolutely! We are USDA certified, specializing in natural and organic formulas.
Are your ingredients safe and certified?
Yes, we ensure that all ingredients come from certified farms. Additionally, we provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for your product’s ingredients as proof of quality and safety.
Does Medpak Solutions do animal testing?
No, Medpak Solutions proudly adheres to a cruelty-free policy, refraining from any form of animal testing in our contract manufacturing and lab processes.
What formula testing is required?
PET (Preservative Efficacy Testing) (1 month) and Stability/Compatibility (1 – 3 months). – Standard protocol is a 3 month accelerated stability test to support a 3 year exp. date.
However, Stability/Compatibility can be a customized protocol based on the brand’s specific needs. Costs vary depending on the protocol.
Packaging and Fulfillment
Does Medpak Solutions provide packaging?
Customers typically supply their own packaging components, since it’s the most cost-effective method. However, Medpak can purchase packaging components on your behalf if preferred.
Do you offer custom packaging?
Yes, we provide custom packaging options tailored to the unique needs of our clients. Our team can collaborate with you to design packaging that reflects your brand and helps you achieve your business goals.
Do you offer 3PL or Fulfillment after my products are manufactured?
No, we don’t offer 3PL or fulfillment services, but we can recommend reliable shipping partners to handle your logistics needs.
Who is responsible for arranging shipping?
Medpak collaborates with a diverse range of carriers to facilitate shipping with volume discounts. Clients have the option to either manage their own shipping or utilize our services.
Logistics and Shipping
How is freight charged?
Freight is F.O.B. our factory in Saint Petersburg, FL Customers are responsible for arranging shipping and covering all associated costs.
What forms of shipment do you provide?
We offer land, air, and sea shipping options, tailored to your preferences and deadlines.
When I place a manufacturing order, will I receive the exact amount of product?
Actual quantities may vary, sometimes exceeding the target quantity and sometimes falling below. However, you can expect the quantity to be within a range of ±10%.
Can I get a refund on my order?
No, once the deposit is received, we promptly purchase raw materials on the same day, making refunds unavailable.Key performance indicators (KPIs) for production include line efficiency and lead time, which are closely monitored by the production team. Apart from these, we use various other KPIs to track performance.
Formulation and Ingredients
What forms of payment does Medpak Solutions accept?
We accept bank transfers, wire transfers, and credit cards as payment methods.
What are your payment terms?
Production orders require a 50% deposit and balance paid upon completion, prior to pick up. Any pre-production costs (development/formula testing) are paid 100% with order.
Does Medpak require a deposit for my order?
Yes, Medpak requires a 50% non-refundable deposit upon order placement. The purchasing department will initiate the procurement of raw materials once the deposit is received. The remaining balance is due upon completion of production, including a detailed calculation based on the actual quantity produced and shipping considerations.
Can I receive a sample of my product before I commit to an order?
Yes, you will always receive a sample of your product before we proceed to mass production.
Regulations and Certifications
Do you provide assistance with labeling and packaging regulations?
Absolutely, our regulatory department offers guidance to ensure that your labels comply with federal, state, and local cosmetics labeling and packaging regulations.
Does Medpak Solutions formulate products for export?
Yes, our products are exported internationally to regions including Lat-am, Europe, and APAC. Medpak ensures all necessary certificates for international shipments.
Does Medpak Solutions sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)?
Yes, we provide a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to safeguard the interests of both the client and the manufacturer.
Are all your products made in the USA?
Yes, all our products are proudly made in the USA.
Facilities and Support
Do you offer facility tours?
Absolutely! We welcome the opportunity to meet our customers in person and provide them with a firsthand experience of our facilities.
Does Medpak Solutions do pilot test batches?
Certainly, Medpak Solutions has the equipment for full-service pilot batches, facilitating process validation, scale-up, and small batches for studies or user groups.
Do you offer design, logo creation, or branding services?
While we can assist with basic design tasks and prepare your designs for manufacturing, we currently do not provide a full suite of branding and design services.
Do you provide any marketing support or guidance for new product launches?
We don’t provide support for Marketing, but we partner with many agencies that can help your brand.
